How the penalty works: Missing an element doesn’t just subtract its value — it multiplies a structural penalty across the whole message. Context missing → ~50% hit (the message floats without anchor). Content missing → ~45% hit (nothing meaningful was actually said). Connect missing → ~35% hit (no onward path for the idea).
Where the model could go further:
1. Weights, not flat addition. Right now C + C + C treats all three equally. But Context might act as a multiplier — without relevance, even great content and links score zero for the reader. The equation might be better as: V = Content × Context × (1 + Connect).
2. Sequencing matters. Context should come before Content lands, and Connect should come after. The model could encode order — a message that references before anchoring fails even if all three exist.
3. Audience calibration as a 4th variable. A message perfectly structured for one person is noise for another. Adding A (Audience fit) as a coefficient: V = A × (Ctx + Cnt + Con) would capture why the same message has different contribution scores depending on who receives it.
4. Time decay. Connect (links/references) has longer shelf life than Context, which can go stale. A version of the model that adds a longevity dimension would help distinguish messages designed for immediacy vs. messages meant to be referenced later.
5. Compounding effect. When all three are high together, the contribution should be super-additive — not just the sum. Great context makes great content land harder. That synergy effect is currently missing from a flat additive model.
