S698: False Allegations & Defaming Genuine community & Admins.

[06/01, 10:19] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: New and existing members Pl send ur name, dept email id and year of passing to @⁨Alpha Iisc Charlie⁩ or @⁨IISc Alumni Association⁩ if u r not a member of IIScAA so far and as alternative go to https://www.iiscalumni.com/page/Vision-amp-Mission.dz or download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coherendz.vaave register
[06/01, 10:29] 7483712832 SriniG: Hi
[06/01, 10:33] 7483712832 SriniG: Vinu – Can I request that the EC members take over the administration of the Bangalore chapter? I am concerned that the current administration is by a business account and information shared in a safe space can be misused for business purposes? It also looks like all administrators are business  associates of one of the administrators. Please act or advise in this group that the other group is not an account affiliated to IISc.
[06/01, 10:34] 7483712832 SriniG: There is one more IISc community with a similar problem. I seem to have received a whole lot of fraud calls after joining the IISc community. I am concerned that contact information may have been harvested by admins with business interests and shared with unrelated organizations..
[06/01, 10:35] 7483712832 SriniG: My request has the support of other Bangalore Chapter members too..
[06/01, 10:36] +91 80727 28929: That brings me to another question having joined fairly recently. Why is this group named *unofficial*? Is there an official group too! Does IISc recognise this group?
[06/01, 10:41] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: Not all members here have confirmed that they are IISCAA members hence its unofficial. That’s why the below link to be followed by those who are not members yet
[06/01, 10:41] 7483712832 SriniG: I think the admin of this group is being conservative and hence cautiously calling it “unofficial”. The other group and community is masquerading as the real IISc.. typical fraudster behaviour..
[06/01, 10:43] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: He has muted it now. In the meeting on 11th we will decide. In the meantime all in that group are to join this group and we form chapter then the separate collaboration platform
[06/01, 10:46] 7483712832 SriniG: Theh are not. Beware of any group administered by GRV Prasad and his cronies!! Potentially fraudulent behaviour by admins!! As I mentioned earlier!!

[06/01, 20:22] +1 (408) 832-4615: The attack on an individual doing something and forming a group for Bengaluru IISc folks is unfounded. If you want to do it, you should have done it before. When someone else starts then objecting is petty and mean.
[06/01, 20:26] +1 (408) 832-4615: No wonder ODAA is independent. IISc AA has so many issues of people objecting and acting petty and making accusations. The number of inactive chapters and incomplete websites is large .
[06/01, 20:30] +1 (408) 832-4615: Can u please take this outside the group? Do you have proof of all these accusations? We have seen Prasad active here for a long time. Not you. So, I am not sure if I should believe what you are saying.
[06/01, 20:33] 7483712832 SriniG: One of the groups within IISc AA had an outsider. When I questioned, I was pointed out to GRVP personally website. I also realised his account is a business account. I exited all of his groups. You are free to continue to promote his business interests. All I said was they were not IISc only groups – so beware to all other IIScians.. if he calls his group GRP – no issues.. he cannot act like he represents IISc..
[06/01, 20:33] +1 (408) 832-4615: Stop talking nonsense please. I am not promoting anyone
[06/01, 20:36] 7483712832 SriniG: This is a new group. Luckily he has been quiet and not been pushing links to his personal website here!!
[06/01, 20:40] +1 (408) 832-4615: Many of us have been in this group for a long time including Prasad. Everyone knows me also. You can see from the reactions that others agree with my pov on this topic. You suddenly start calling people cronies, making accusations. Yes, Prasad has his own style of posts and creates min groups, writes blogs. So what? You started the posts here and clearly attacked one individual. From what I can see and I may be wrong, Vinu is also jumping in and using words like vigilance, etc. I do not know why. These are my observations.
[06/01, 20:41] 7483712832 SriniG: Happy to talk 121.. or engage 121 as you suggested..
[06/01, 20:42] +1 (408) 832-4615: I am not interested in engaging 1 on 1 on this topic since I am not involved. Please resolve outside with whoever. If you want to form a group, go ahead and form one too.
[07/01, 00:05] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: It’s already a paid subscription like any other Webportal Vendor.. Please don’t spread misinformation!
[07/01, 00:18] +1 (408) 832-4615: What misinformation did I spread? I am asking questions. I did not know that you had already paid. You should stop being defensive and secretive.. how does it feel if I make that accusation? To be clear – I am NOT making that accusation. Okay.
[07/01, 00:19] +1 (408) 832-4615: And why do you delete eveyr message you do not like? That is nonsense and offensive
[07/01, 00:19] +1 (408) 832-4615: Why not take a poll about my question and ask everyone what was wrong? Do you have the guts to do that? I will apologize here if I made a mistake. No problem.
[07/01, 00:20] +1 (408) 832-4615: Please do not become defensive for eveything.
[07/01, 00:20] +1 (408) 832-4615: I thought that maybe you are getting a free initial service which is quite normal
[07/01, 00:21] +1 (408) 832-4615: I did not want to assume that you paid already. Was that misinformation? How? Please explain
[07/01, 00:21] +1 (408) 832-4615: I am happy to stand corrected
[07/01, 00:21] +1 (408) 832-4615: What about my question about revenue? Was that misinformation too?
[07/01, 00:22] +1 (408) 832-4615: If you want to make this group only messages from you and those that you approve please enable admin approval. I will be fine with that too. Then you can have full control Pratap
[07/01, 00:29] +1 (408) 832-4615: I am also happy to exit this group Pratap. I do not want to get in the way of how you want to run your group. I am fine with that. 100%. Thanks
[07/01, 00:47] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: We are trying to get all into a common Indian platform trusted by several reputed Alumni Bodies and Corporates… Without verifying it, stating that data is being commercially used in spite of legal undertakings for the engagement isn’t welcome!

Follow all the steps listed as reply to question (04) above, except step ‘2.’ viz. ~An one time subscription of Rs. 5,000/- has to be made (for alumni residing within India)~. Such a payment is not needed.

(06) Is a new app. coming up for IISc AA collaboration/activities?
1. In another of IISc alumni WhatsApp group [‘IISc Alumni Group (Unofficial)’], we were asked to download & register https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coherendz.vaave

3. Quote from that WhatsApp group : “….this web site and related mobile app will be a collaborative platform of IIScAA AND WILL REPLACE ALL WHATSAPP GROUPS INCLUDING THIS..”

4. IISc AA office bearers, perhaps Vice-President Dr. Pratap, can clarify / add more details.

(07) What are the roles of IISc AA and ODAA? 1. IISc AA's 'Mission & vision' statement : https://www.iiscalumni.com/page/Vision-amp-Mission.dz 2. ODAA's 'Mission & vision' statement : Couldn't find. Remember seeing earlier. 3. My *personal* understanding (may require correction) : (1) While ODAA's role is to leverage IISc Alumni for enhancing/improving IISc, IISc AA is for fostering a community of IISc alumni which benefits both IISc and IISc alumni.

(2) One other difference : IISc AA office bearers are IISc alumni elected by the members. ODAA office bearers (to the extent I understand) are existing IISc faculty.

(08) Why should I get IISc AA membership?
1. Most (Almost all?) of us are proud to have been at IISc. IISc AA membership gives you an opportunity to continue being part of the IISc community. Sense of belonging/association.

Please fill/update the KYM (Know Your Member?) at : https://www.tinyurl.com/iiscaaidform

(10) How do I request for accommodation in IISc, for me to stay in campus, on a brief visit?
1. Paid accommodation, depending on availability, is given for both individual alumni as well as for the family of alumni (I believe alumni should be travelling with family, Am I correct?), visiting Bangalore.
2. Based on members’ earlier experience, accommodation is given in one of the three locations : Hoysala Guest House, Main Guest House (MGH) or CVH (Centenary Visitors House)
3. MGH & CVH have a local restaurant/canteen where on payment, food is available.
4. Visitors staying Hoysala can have food at Nesara or Sarvam? food court (Old ‘C’ mess, between ‘M’ & ‘N’ hostel blocks)
5. For accommodation, mail to ‘alumniaffairs.odaa@iisc.ac.in’ with the following details :

1. Note that IISc AA doesn’t sell the goodies/merchandise. These goodies/merchandise are given against donation of a specific sum.
2. IISc AA on-line shop : https://www.iiscalumni.com/page/Merchandise-65.dz

[07/01, 07:22] +91 98803 64570: What is the data privacy policy of IIScAA ? Please share.
[07/01, 08:52] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: https://www.vaave.com/privacy.dz#:~:text=Information%20Security&text=We%20will%20co%2Doperate%20with,to%20dpo%40vaave.com.
[07/01, 09:28] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: As a established practice, IIScAA has been following Institute’s privacy policy and also published in the Bye-laws regarding any members right to the Alumni records… Only after obtaining prior approval with intimation of the purpose for viewing the Membership records, a Life Member can be allowed to check AA records.
All AA Employees go through the oath of secrecy and EC members adhere to the norm that the Members data can’t be used for any personal/commercial use…
[07/01, 17:14] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: @⁨G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.⁩ due to less number of people opting for in person meeting lets do this on 18th Jan Pl change, post the same again
[07/01, 17:15] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: Thanks to all eager to meet and form the Bengaluru chapter. Let’s try on 18th. We will hope to get all who participated in the meeting
[07/01, 17:20] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: there will be EC from IISCAA who will validate and help form the chapter for info go alll. its not just someone calling for meeting to start the chapter 🙂
[08/01, 14:10] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: Ok, We can use this group or EC member created group to arrange for the next meet up. Awaiting for EC members Info for New Official Bengaluru Chapter group info.. We Awaiting to join the event & group. Thank You.
[08/01, 14:13] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: Also observed few false accusations have been done about individuals & the admins of another group maliciously in this group. We empathize it may have caused confusion to members here. We Categorically state the other group is intented done with good intent for Bengaluru Alumni to be as a helpspace. How to know about False Information and Rumours. This will help members see truths more clearly. Do check how to know the types of allegations. Thank You for your trust in the Trustable. https://grpvcare2dare.design.blog/2025/01/06/s693-types-of-false-accusations/
[08/01, 14:33] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: thanks to those who have already registered. Others pl do so thanks
[08/01, 15:06] 7483712832 SriniG: Can administrators clarify that this is the IISc Alumni forum and the point of information for all Alumni matters? All other groups having IISc / IISc Alumni etc. are not related to Indian Institue of Science and should not be relied upon for Alumni information?
[08/01, 15:11] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: We try our best to provide clarifications related IIScAA initiatives here…
IISc doesn’t authorize any WhatsApp Group… The only have Official channels like LinkedIn, X, Facebook for social media and are managed by staff at Office of COmminucation.
[08/01, 15:14] 7483712832 SriniG: We are all going through a lot of effort in validations etc. There is a business account running an entire IISc community and is being administered by non EC members. Potentially misleading that those are IISc communities too..
[08/01, 15:15] 7483712832 SriniG: I found out that they are not strictly IISc communities by accident..
[08/01, 15:18] +91 80727 28929: Is IISc involved in any way in the registration of Alumni and the issue of life membership card? Where does the fee go?
[08/01, 15:19] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: https://www.iiscalumni.com/page/Vision-amp-Mission.dz is the right place once registered to get information about and enable collaboration of Alumni or download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coherendz.vaave register, to actively collaborate. This whatapp group was formed with single mission of getting alumni connected, sharing and caring to start working on the portal or app for collaboration Many alumni were involved including present administrators, @chandraappanna and few others in formulating this unofficial – because members are not validated WhatsApp group. We are persistently requesting members Here to move on to the portal and app for information and collaboration via many messages. Kindly register and let us be a community which can make process, our capability stand above the individuals Thanks
[08/01, 15:20] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: IISc is not involved. IIScAA is an association of alumni vetted by IISc with its Director as its patron registration fee and other donations goes towards what we have stated in the portal for activities – such as giving back to community and to IISc and its existence
[08/01, 15:21] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: IIScAA linked to IISc through the Patron who is at the top… All Finance, activities, staffing etc are independent even though we are situated in the Campus and are treated like an Independent Department.
With the latest bye-laws two advisors are also appointed by the Patron into the EC to ensure that we don’t go out of the ways from the ethos of the Institute…
[08/01, 15:21] 7483712832 SriniG: Somehow pointing people to the authenticity of this group relative to the other groups are made to sound like allegations. Hence requesting admins to clarify the distinctive nature of this whatsapp group..
[08/01, 15:23] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: Since Chandra Appanna has been a member of this group from inception along with me and Pratap and few other ECs of past and present, I will be again inviting him to join, which he left due to some very odd messagings that happened in past few days. He will be back as administrator and not sure if he accepts, but I will ask our request.
[08/01, 15:24] 7483712832 SriniG: I also think the EC members need to get on top of administering the Bamgalore chapter. A meeting oraganized for 11/1 has now been postponed to 18/1. I think we should still decide on 11/1 the status of the Bangalore chapter and get the appropriate EC members to take charge..
[08/01, 15:26] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: As long as any of our Alumni creates a group and keeps the Spirit of IIScians alive, we shouldn’t worry too much. However, for any information on the IIScAA initiatives, you can trust this Group the most and we try to post most IIScAA events, news and information here…
[08/01, 15:26] 1. ವಿನು ಜೆಡೆ Vinu Jade Alumni IISc: Chaper formation is left to individuals EC can only validate it via AGM of IIScAA member . Pl start the community if u would like to lead, Thanks
[08/01, 15:44] 7483712832 SriniG: Agreed. The others sources are not as trustworthy for Alumni / IISc information as this. Exactly what I had raised earlier. Thanks for validating.
[08/01, 15:45] 7483712832 SriniG: The problem arises when non Allumni members are included in a group posing as an IISc community.. I was misled thinking it was an IISc community just by the name.
[08/01, 15:47] Pratap JEM Yatra2023 IISc: We will sort it out soon.. The Webportal verification is the best way to do so
[08/01, 15:48] 7483712832 SriniG: I guess if he is not EC he should not be admin. He also posted some offensive messages. I guess he needs too belong and then can become admin at some point.
[08/01, 15:51] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: Also can rename this group to IIScAA Unofficial Group. as it will clear to members its IIScAA Official or Unoofical Group not like other IISc Alumni Groups
[08/01, 15:54] 7483712832 SriniG: I think admins should delete such voting commissioned by members.. it’s all very confusing!!
[08/01, 15:55] 7483712832 SriniG: Don’t even understand what voting for each h option really means!!
[08/01, 15:56] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: This is for Clarity of IIScAA.. As its not in Name. Requested by G.R Prasad..
[08/01, 15:57] 7483712832 SriniG: Whoever commissioned the vote above needs to clarify what each of that means for members of this group, what validation process for each case and the rationale of such names.. otherwise it is just muddying the waters..
[08/01, 15:59] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: These options are Suggestions and recommendations more can be added….. Do Note the open ended Question..? What can be an Apt Name? anyway this group is going to be transitioned to App.. so Bye Folks..

See u on the app.. maybe there can be less trolling.. Thank You
[08/01, 16:05] +49 1515 3872404: The Whatsapp group and the website are two sides of the same coin. There can be a time delay between joining the Whatsapp and Registration on the website , but overall the members need to synchronized. In addition whatsapp is a casual communication channel so some rules and aesthetics needs to be followed, so I am in favour of getting a few senior members to act as administrators.
[08/01, 16:20] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: another reason is We alumni may confuse this “IISc Alumni Group” to be by ODAA too.. hence conflict can arise..

I as an Alumni am aware and member of both IIScAA & ODAA.
[08/01, 16:34] 7483712832 SriniG: What does ODAA stand for?
[08/01, 16:35] G.R.P )=Grit, Reason, Peers) GR Prasahd SatyamJayam.: our Dept group created by alumni also has Profs, We do have our Dept alumni group in which we had sent this IIScAA Alumni Group invites message due to which many of our Dept Alumni Joined this Group recently.. For their awareness sharing that this is IIScAA Alumni group not ODAA_IISc. for more info can refer links here..
