S388: Our Rajyotsava: Celebrating three Lamps Of Life; Language, Land and Law.

Dedicated to Kannada, Karnataka and 6+All States of India.

In August we Celebrate the “Rastrotsava” or National-Fest of Nationhood during the Independence Month. Celebration of Indian Nationhood & Spirit of nationalism. We gratefully acknowledge India’s contribution to its citizens welfare.

Similarly In November we   celebrate the “Rajyotsavas” or State Fest of statehood during the state formation day, where we acknowledge the contributions of regional states and institutions or individuals of state in protecting and promoting the interests of its state’s citizens.

Such celebrations of statehood is complementary to nationhood and helps citizens be rooted to their cultures and heritage. It gives them empowerment of cultural rights as envisioned in Article 29-30 of Constitution of India.

#Integrated-Diversity of India.

Though this details of one state, similar celebration of nation and states can be done by multiple states too.

November 1st! A day of great importance to Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh! Our Rajyotsava Divas! The day we received extra powers!

Here is a story to emphasize upon how important it is to use the power that we have rather than misusing it! Enjoy reading it! The story to start the month with!

Once the River became very proud of the tremendous flow of her water.

The River felt – “I am so powerful that I can wash away everything with me –
the mountains, houses, trees, animals, humans, etc.”

One day she proudly asked the Ocean,
“Tell me, what should I bring for you ? Houses, animals, humans, trees, whatever you want, I can uproot and bring with me.”

The Ocean understood that the River had become egoistic.

He said to the River,
“If you want to bring something for me,
uproot some grass and bring it.”

The River said, “Is that all?
I’ll bring it right away.”

While passing through the field, the River exerted its full force on the grass, but the Grass did not get uprooted.

The River tried several times, but failed.

Eventually the River gave up, returned to the Ocean and said,
“I can uproot trees, houses, mountains etc. But whenever I apply force to uproot the grass, it bends down and I have to pass from above, empty-handed.”

The Ocean listened carefully to the River and said with a smile, “Those who are hard and rigid like mountains and trees,
are easily uprooted. But the one who has learned the humility of grass,
cannot be disturbed even by the fiercest of winds or violent storms.”

This is a story about Nature where every element is meant to be as it is!

But we are blessed with the power of discrimination. Let us learn to manage ourselves better and stay strong yet humble!
