Imagining Araama-yana or Comfortable peaceful consequences to Ramayana. The Idea is to honor the valuable insights from the Political, Marital, International and Spiritual epic of cultures. Highlighting the epic with Socio-social lenses. Identifying to cope with the Malignant-Genderiness (Masculine, Fem or Trans)
Ramayana War is written in the Epic Ramayana as a war between Ram the Prince (in Exile) of Ayodhya and Ravana the reigning King of Lanka for the Rescue of an abducted-Princess Sita. This time I’m writing is during the Navaratri the 9days of worshipping the 9 forms of the Divine-Feminity (this post will also bring to light the other grey areas & darker sides too with context of Ramayana). The Divine-Feminine (Female-Archetypes Lakshmi/Parvathi/Durga.. etc ) is the Networking & Nurturing force of Nature (Estrogenic) seen Interacting with the Divine-Masculine which is the Procreative and Protective force (Testosteronic) (Male Archetypes Vishnu/ Krishna/Shiva..etc).
Also contemporary global events are Womens Uprising in Iran against hegemonic-ideological systems. The Social Genders-Harmony of a society is established by the Divine/Benign Genderic forces & disrupted by the Non-Divine/Malignant Feminine and Non-Divine/Malignant Masculine energies, forces & Ideological (Illogical, Antilogical or Logical) Systems. This post is interpretational from Indian Literary and Social works. Hence a workable prior basic knowledge of popular Indian Archetypes is needed.
In The Epic of Ramayana We see the 3-conflicts arising at crucial Turning-points for the Wishes-Desires (Whims & Fancies) of 3 Critical-Women (Ramayan’s womens-power Naari-Shakthi). Desire is the Root of Suffering and Healing too.. dedicating this post to author of Ramayana Valmiki.
The Epic has an eternal relevance to the gender-dynamics and family-dynamics across cultures and nations. As the Main Archetypes in the story are Empathic-Father(Dasarath), Manipulative Wife(Kaikeyi) Obedient-Son(Ram), Loyal-Husband(Ram), Loyal Brothers(Lakshman,Bharata), CriticalThinking Just (Vibhishan), ProactiveBystander(Jatayu) Arrogant Sisters, Hypergamous-Women, #Navadaari in Navaratri. In 2022 we saw the economic destruction of Lanka, similarly in Epic too Lanka was destroyed. Of 2022 economist are giving the preventive interpretations and for the epic the preventive and Safety interventions are given here. Each of us as humans are vulnerable to these familial and social relational-risks hence being aware of Prevention & living, is better than enduring, cure or dying.
The 3 Main Turning-Pointers expressing power of Feminine Choice & Voice.
1. Kaikeyi (Queen of Ayodhya) (Selfish Motherly Desire to have her Son only to Succeed the Throne & Exile her Step-Son) even at the disheartenment of her husband King-Dashrathas & People of Ayodhaya’s judgement & choice for Qualified, Capable & Venerable Heir-Apparent Prince Rama. Her personality is of an easily Manipulative-wife and Manipulated-mother/master.
2. Shurpanakha (Princess-excess of Lanka) (Marital-Desire to seduce & procreate with Attractive AlphaMales- Rama & Lakshmana) like her narcy-mother did it with Sage Vishrava (Biological Estranged Father of Ravana). Like mother, like daughter. Personalities Archetype of a Narcisstic Hyper-sexual Woman, a figure changing vamp and a Manipulative Sister.
3. Princess Sita of Mithila (Experiential-Desire for Atteactive-Deer Marichi & Sukarma of Donating to Ravana crossing line of Safety). Positive Personality of a strong qualified princess, loyal wife/daughter inlaw and caring mother, Negligent Sister in law,
The core-crimes intents in ramayana stem from greed in the 3Ws Wine (Lankans-Army), Wealth (Kubera’s Brothers & Lankan & Citizens) & Women (Shurpanakha’s Brothers, ravana & his Wifes).
Globally such themes in epics are repeated in like the legend of Troy of Eloped-Wife of a king, Mahabharata for Honor of wife(Draupadi) & Nation(Wealth), the story of Padmavathi of Rajasthan. Though there are Moral & Spiritual indights of essences and interpretations, multiple sources are available in plenty online, what is missing are utilitarian & humanistic interpretations & lessons from these Ancient Indian wisdom which are highlighted here in this post.
Doing a helpful-analysis on the question “Strategies How thousands of lives could have been saved (Dasaratha, Marichi, Jatayu, Soldiers of Vanars & Lanka, Kumbkarna, Ravana..etc) by war-prevention actions & attitudes of each character from Ramayana.” These insights can be useful for our own social circles and our current life.
1. War Prevention by King Dasaratha of Ayodhya: if Dasaratha like his Son Rama could have had only one wife and one child/Son hence one heir (Like King-Janaka FIL of Prince Rama). The Conflicts between queens could have been avoided. Monogamy is good for family succession. This is why more Indian Dieties prefer Two-Partner Family Shiva-Parvathi, Vishnu-Mahalakshmi..etc.. More Safer Conflictless Family. If only one son he need not have been forced to exile hence no wife-abduction no war. Prince Ram would have been king smoothly with less royal family-politics.
Lesson1: Safe-Marriage is between two-Complemenatrians. 3+ individuals in a marital-relationship is a crowd and recipe for disaster.
2. War Prevention By Queen Kaikeyi. She got boons or promise of wish fulfilment by her husband the king it was of benevolence and gratitude of King. But it was instead of use for public welfare was misused for selfish wrongful gains for her progeny(DNA) and abuse of stepson Rama’s rights to succession. Queen was under mind control & manipulation of a personal-maid having undue influence over her (hunchback by the name of Manthara).
Lesson2: Be aware of Coercion by close Advisers. (Check for Conflicts of Interests) Womens Emotions are easily manipulatable.
3. War Prevention by Manthara. She had a grudge on Prince Ram and hence dint want him to be King. The mistake he had done hurt her ego and narcisstic-trauma. She being a hunchback had lot of insecurities and internal hurts, which all got into the form of narcisstic-rage onto young prince Ram. If she had spoken openly reconcilliated with Ram she may have not manipulated the Queen for her desires and revenge.
Lesson3: Forgiveness and reconciliation are virtues & Holding Grudge and Narcissistic-Anger is Viscious for Nations.
4. War Prevention by Rama. Could have asked, requested or ordered Sita not to take risk left her safely at his home in Ayodhya or in his in laws place with Raja Janaka(FIL), instead of exposing her a vulnerable urban royal women (inexperienced to life in forest, if she was a Tribal forester no issue).
5. War Prevention by Lakshmana. If stayed with Sita and not be fooled by Marichi.
6.War Prevention by Sita. If been wise to stayback at home or done a due diligence before marriage about risks of mantara and mother Inlaw kaikeyi or liability of king Dasharatha in Ayodhya. Not being manipulated by Ravana to cross the lakshmana raksha-rekha.(metaphor for Safety-limits and socio-legal rules & Regulations)
7. War Prevention by Shurpanakha. Not being lustful for the saffron clad sanyasi men. And get her nose cut while trying to seduce them and also not to instigate brother Ravana to avenge her and abduct and acquire Ram’s wife Sita with conspiring by Marichi.
8. War Prevention by Ravana. To have inquired with Rama and Lakshmana what really happened with Shurpanakha Nose, and not be manipulated by hos sister Shurpanakha to avenge her nose cutting with Sitas Abduction. It’s a grave logical and ethical mistake. The later manipulating sita into crossing the limits, killing defender jatayu and not listening to good advise of his brothers to not jail sita & return Sita to Rama before the war.(like war of troy).
9. War Prevention by Sage Vishrava/. Not to have been manipulated by Kaikesi into marrying or progenating with her to breed semi-narc children.
